Amber and Nate’s dreamy wedding was held on May 25, 2024, at Avalon Keep in Mena, AR. Although it was another insanely hot and humid day in Arkansas, the location could not have been more perfect. Avalon Keep Botanical Garden is a charming venue with beautiful, picturesque gardens perfect for weddings and other special occasions. The couple chose the ideal place for their intimate ceremony that guests appreciated.
When Amber first got in her dress, you could tell it was just made for her. She looked absolutely beautiful. She is a trooper for wearing her huge princess ball gown in that heat, too, let me tell you! Watching her gracefully handle the day in such a gorgeous gown was truly inspiring.
We had a first look with her grandpa, and as we waited for Amber to put the final touches on her look, I told him to act super surprised. When Amber walked in, he exceeded all expectations, his face lighting up with genuine delight. It was an incredibly heartwarming and adorable moment that perfectly captured their special bond.
Amber and Nate think of themselves as “nerds,” of course; in their vows, this came to life in the most adorable way in their promises to each other. After the ceremony, everyone went to cool off before the meal with a charcuterie table and lots of water!
Amber’s maid of honor chose a few games to play before the end of the afternoon. One involved a scavenger hunt, another featured the shoe game, and the most terrifying of all–finding your husband in a lineup while blindfolded!
The shoe game was first up to warm the audience, which got lots of laughs. Then, they blindfolded Amber and told several people to line up (both male and female). The third person in the group was Nate, and Amber easily guessed right. Then someone suggested Nate go down further in the line so she would run into him AGAIN…
When she got to him the second time, she started freaking out, thinking she had made a mistake and didn’t choose correctly. It threw her for a loop, that is for sure. But the bright side is that she chose correctly both times, and they did not have to file for an annulment at the night’s end!
It was an honor to capture Amber and Nate’s wedding day at Avalon Keep. Their love, joy, and playful spirit made the day unforgettable.
