Beautiful Engagement at Arkansas State Capitol
I was really looking forward to having another session at the Capitol! When Victoria and Tyler asked me to photograph their engagement session at the Arkansas State Capitol Building, I was eager to jump on board! The Capitol is one of my favorite places to shoot — the stunning architecture, grand staircases, and soft light always make for timeless, romantic photos.
We kicked off their engagement session on June 21, 2025. Started of with relaxed, casual outfits, and right from the start, they were laughing, playing, and truly enjoying every moment. One of my favorite moments came when I prompted them to try what I jokingly call the “drunk walk and booty bump.” Tyler made sure not to send Victoria tumbling onto the sidewalk. But they couldn’t stop laughing through it all, which made for the sweetest, most genuine smiles.
We wandered around the building, making use of all the beautiful corners. Then worked our way back to their car so they could change into their formal outfits. They stepped out in their coordinated, dressy look — wow! I was so proud of how perfectly their colors and styles complemented each other. You could just feel how excited they were to celebrate this season of their lives.
After more engagement portraits around the Capitol, we ended up in a grassy spot at the side of the building. It was just in time for the gorgeous sunset glow. Victoria had brought a bottle of champagne for the occasion, and the pop of the cork — followed by their giggles and cheers — was the perfect way to wrap up the evening!

After enjoying a romantic steak dinner, he led her to the serene garden area of the ship. Of course, feeling very nervous but determined. In that quiet, intimate corner of the deck, surrounded by twinkling lights and the sound of the ocean, he finally popped the question.
Victoria had a hunch that a proposal might be coming soon. However, she never imagined it would happen in such a magical and unexpected way — a romantic proposal at sea. It is right in the middle of the ocean. Wrapped up in the moment together, the cozy garden setting and the endless ocean surrounding them created a magical atmosphere. The sheer surprise of it all made their engagement on a cruise ship a memory they would treasure forever.
