I was totally shocked by the proposal!!
She had always prided herself on being hard to surprise. She was like a detective when it came to uncovering secrets. So, when James pulled off the most amazing proposal, she was completely taken aback!
Their plan was a seemingly innocent escape room adventure with their closest friends. Except, as fate would have it, their friends started dropping like flies – one with pneumonia, another battling a nasty sinus infection, and the couple themselves just recovering from a bout of stomach flu. So, they roped in James’s parents to fill in, making it a fun family outing or so she thought.
Little did she know, James was secretly pulling off the ultimate surprise behind her back. He had sneakily named their team, “Will you marry me?” After they successfully finished the escape room, everyone came together for a team photo. She stood there, blissfully unaware, HOLDING the whiteboard with their team name written all over it. So caught up in wondering why the photo was taking so long, she didn’t even look at the words she was holding!
Then, as she turned, there was James, her sweet and clever James, kneeling before her. Her mind went blank. She gasped, a genuine, completely unscripted gasp of pure shock. It took a moment, probably longer than it should have, but eventually, she managed to muster out a resounding, joyful YES!
