On September 14, 2024, Kaitlyn and Everett’s engagement session was a true adventure because of a few unexpected surprises—let me tell you! The morning of the shoot, we were caught in a back-and-forth debate about whether to reschedule, thanks to Tropical Storm Francine threatening to turn the park into a muddy mess. But Kaitlyn REALLY wanted to make it work. She even told me that she had prayed the night before, asking God to do some watering. She just hoped the rain would stay around the park during the session. And that’s exactly what happened!!!
Photo Session Full of Unexpected Surprises
Despite the initial threat of rain, we had great weather during the session. The park was teeming with life; even the animals thought so. We saw countless deer, and I swear it was 25 plus! They were everywhere! I even saw more on the car ride out of the park. Our excitement turned to a bit of fear when we spotted not one, but two copperheads, including one that came dangerously close to Kaitlyn. Those snakes seemed to be enjoying the weather too. These surprises set us all on edge for the rest of the engagement session.

Love Worth the Wait
Kaitlyn and Everett share a truly sweet bond, one marked by both patience and excitement. From the moment they met, their connection was undeniable, but life threw a little twist their way. Just as they were planning their first date, Kaitlyn left for a family vacation, putting their plans on hold. Waiting felt like forever, but that time apart only strengthened their bond. The anticipation had built up when they finally went on their first date, making it clear their connection was meant to be.
A Blissful Wedding Celebration At Mildred B. Cooper Chapel
Kaitlyn and Everett’s first date was one to remember. They went to a cozy Mexican restaurant late in the evening, practically shutting the place down as they chatted for hours. By the night’s end, they were the only ones there, wrapped up in each other’s stories and laughter. Their connection was so natural and immediate, it felt like they had known each other forever.
Fast-forward to the day of Everett’s proposal, a moment filled with just as much joy and surprise. At the end of a family photo session, Everett got down on one knee right before sunset. Kaitlyn was caught completely off guard. But her excitement was undeniable as she happily said “Yes.” She felt thrilled to begin their next chapter together. Legend and Lace Studios is just as excited to capture these beautiful new beginnings for their engagement and wedding.
