I first laid eyes on Houston’s Venue in Brookland, Arkansas, when I was searching for a venue for my wedding in 2021. Even then, I knew this place was the perfect setting for my wedding. When you first drive through the large gates and up the long gravel driveway, you can really take in all its beauty.
Houston Wedding and Event Venue has black accents all over its white exterior–black shutters, ceiling fans, and rocking chairs are all over the grand front porch of the venue. There is a large pond with a fountain to your left and a quaint little garden over to your right. It’s truly a peaceful place.
Walking up from the parking lot to the wedding venue, you first come to this beautiful fountain. I fell in love with this fountain. (Side note: for our wedding, we paused for a moment to take in everything in our environment, and I distinctly remember the sound of the fountain. Also, the birds’ sounds and the breeze in the air that day. This fountain is so serene; it will calm your nerves on the big day!)
The fountain is gorgeous on its own, but it looks incredible when you add flowers! Passing the fountain, you get a great look at Houston’s and all its beauty. There is a vast wood door that leads into the building. It definitely is a statement piece, let me tell you.

Details About Houston’s Wedding Venue
The Grand Hall
The grand hall is a vast, open space for your ceremony or reception. A large fireplace in the center of the back wall is the perfect backdrop for a ceremony. It is also an excellent spot for a head or sweetheart table. Houston also has a wooden bar for use inside this area. Two massive, gorgeous chandeliers are hanging from the very tall ceilings. I might add that everything in the room is white and perfect for photos. Houston’s Venue even has a groom’s and bride’s suite for your day. This place seriously has it all.
The Groom’s Suite
The groom’s suite has a poker table if the guys want to pass some time while waiting for go time. It also has a full bathroom, a large mirror, and a private back patio to enjoy. Also near the groom’s room is the kitchen with a large sink, freezer, fridge, and oven.
The Bride’s Suite
Over on the other side of the venue is the bridal suite. The girls have a full bathroom and a wall-length vanity to get ready. Four or five girls can sit at this vanity to get ready at a time. The suite has excellent natural light in addition to the chandelier and vanity lights in the room. There is also a large mirror in this room, and it has a private patio.
The Back Of The Wedding Venue
A large covered pavilion in the back, a great flexible space. You can have the ceremony here, outdoor dancing, the rehearsal dinner, you name it. It is equipped with an outdoor rolling bar, which is very convenient depending on your use.
In addition to all these features, many more come with this wedding venue. This venue is one of the best in Northeast Arkansas (I might be slightly biased in this one), but it truly is beautiful. A lot of thought was put into this design, making it superb for photographers.
All-in-all, Houston’s Venue in Northeast Arkansas is one of my favorites. From getting married in 2021 to getting to second shoot at this venue for the talented Alice McLain Photography, I have experienced both sides of the wedding day there, so you can trust when I say how great it is!
Enjoy these photos I took as a second photographer to Alice McLain Photography in mid-March at Houston’s Venue in Brookland, AR.
